Very light in colour, initial freshness on nose giving way to intriguing notes of ripe figs and mango. Dry, with hints of tropical fruit on a fullish palate, underpinned with aromas of bell pepper, herbs and spice. A mineral touch and zesty acidity lead into a lovely long finish. Serve well chilled on its own or as an accompaniment to fish, seafood, green salads or light chicken dishes.

Bright straw colour with intense, persistent fine bubbles (‘perlage’). White flowers, apricot, apple and yeastiness on the nose. Honeyed and crystalised fruit on the palate. Full bodied, generous mouth fill and long lingering finish.

Involving on the palate with good mouth weight and some minerality, this is a robust wine demonstrating very well balanced acidity and freshness. A long and persistent finish. One of our favourites!

(blend of 45% Merlot, 35% Tannat & 20% Cabernet Sauvignon)

50% aged in French oak, 50% in second fill US oak, all for 7 months.
Deep concentrated red with cedary, red berry nose. Mocha, spices and dried plum on the palate. Smooth with firm tannins. Needs decanting, then opens up to show real balance, suppleness and touch of caramel on a long, fresh finish.

Pizzato’s flagship wine, made from 20 year old vines. 9 months in new French oak. Deep red with dense nose, hinting at dried herbs and spices. Concentrated plum and red fruits on palate, rich, delicate with oaky sweetness and dusty tannins. Restrained and serious, this wine should be decanted.

Serve with roast game or similar.

Intense red with violet reflections. Nose hints initially at nutmeg and cinnamon, then develops more floral tones. Palate of ripe red fruits, mid-weight, with well integrated tannins. Smooth and silky, drinks well now but will improve further with age. A serious food wine, will benefit from decanting.

Clear, characteristic onion skin colour with dark caramel highlights. Very small, intense and persistent bubbles. Complex but delicious nose, touches of honey, hazelnuts and red fruits, with strawberry aromas especially pronounced. Delicious creamy mousse, palate shows more red fruits, brioche, toast and honey.

Methode champenoise, made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes. Minimum 18 months bottle maturation.

Intriguing russet-red colour, showing excellent bubbles and plenty of red fruit on the nose. Refreshing acidity on the palate, with ripe strawberry flavours and good mouth fill. Very versatile, would make a great party wine or perhaps served with lighter foods or as a digestif.

Methode champenoise, 80% Chardonnay & 20% Pinot Noir  Minimum 18 months bottle maturation.

Pale yellow-gold with fine, persistent bubbles. Pronounced nose of mature fruits, especially apple and pear, with floral hints. Well rounded with more fruit on the palate, good balance between alcohol and acidity, and a long finish. Serve as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to white meat or fish dishes.

12% Abv. Encruzilhada do Sul

An intriguing blend of four grape varieties: Merlot, Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional and Pinot Noir. Russet red with hints of salmon pink. Mature red fruits on nose, strawberry and damson. Dry and fresh on palate, well-rounded with hedgerow fruit, a touch of herbs and even honey. Soft textured, low-ish alcohol and very drinkable.

Drink well chilled as an aperitif, or try with sushi or seafood generally. Slim, elegant bottle will impress !

( blend of 77% Touriga Nacional and 23% Tannat )

Deep ruby colour with violet reflections. Floral aromas of violets, geranium and jasmine; intensely aromatic with notes of blackberry, plum and blueberry. Hints too of cassis, chocolate and pepper. Excellent mouth weight, finely balanced with mature tannins, shows good length. No oak used.

With yield of just 1kg / vine, intense fruit concentration to be expected – and is present – in this true blockbuster ! Tannat is a grape which takes time to mature, so harvest doesn’t take place until April. Remains in tank for 14 months prior to bottling.

Fruity yet distinctively earthy Pinot nose. Aromatic red fruit, fragrant and with a touch of spice. Juicy and mouth-filling, supple, soft and very moreish. Long finish. No oak used. A lovely accompaniment to venison, duck or other game meat.

The wine is blended from four separate parcels of merlot. Once fermented, it remained in tank for more than one year prior to bottling.

Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas, suggesting ripe red fruits, guava and spices. Intense and persistent on the palate, with complex mix of plum, leather, earth, cocoa and a hint of mint. Well balanced, shows typical Merlot characteristics, though no oak involved.

The taste are balanced acidity, fine body, leaving a pleasant taste in the mouth.
