Decanter highlights Brazil

Great to see Brazil and its wines given serious treatment in this month’s (September) edition. The five page article gives a balanced and overall positive assessment of the country’s past, present and future wine industry.

Perhaps more importantly, the feature highlights the fact that Brazil has more than good value sparkling to offer: although this category is certainly its ‘calling card’, there is no shortage of high quality reds and whites available too. Indeed, of the six wines mentioned which are available from us at Go Brazil, three are white, two red and one Trad Method sparkling, scoring between 91-94 points.

Our MD, Nicholas Corfe, was consulted for the article and is quoted as saying ‘there is a real confidence and energy in Brazil’s winemaking right now..a stronger sense of identity and an encouraging degree of experimentation’. These feelings have only strengthened following his recent visit to Brazil’s annual wine fair in Bento Gonçalves (see ‘News & Events’ item).
