APPEARANCE: bright ruby-red

AROMAS: youthful, with fresh black cherry and red plum fruit most apparent

TASTE: wine is unoaked, so more juicy red fruit on the palate with smooth mature tannins. Medium bodied and with moderate acidity, this is a difficult wine not to like!

FOOD PAIRING: ideal with roast chicken but is a good match too for pizza, pasta and most cheeses

OVERALL: soft and fruity, this is a great Merlot for all occasions

APPEARANCE:  Deep garnet red

AROMAS: Ripe red berry fruit with notes of coffee, cacao and vanilla

TASTE:  Rich concentration of ripe red fruits with dried plum, some savoury notes and hint of spiciness. Full bodied; elegant and supple, with soft, silky tannins and a very long finish

FOOD PAIRING: Decant, then serve with either steak, roasts or strong cheeses

OVERALL:  Pizzato’s flagship wine, produced from a single block and only in the best vintages, arguably the finest red produced in Brazil. Now drinking superbly.

Fausto Merlot 2016


ABV: 13%

APPEARANCE:  Deep garnet red

AROMAS: Ripe red berry fruits with some ‘leatheriness’ from barrel ageing

TASTE:  Lovely concentration of damson and plum fruit with traces of licorice or spice. Lightly oaked, shows some earthy and savoury notes. Dry with soft tannins, wine will benefit from opening in advance!

FOOD PAIRING: Try with pizza, pasta, risottos, lighter meat dishes and mild cheeses

OVERALL:  A versatile all-rounder, drink by the glass or match with dishes above
