Campos de Cima Assinatura 2018 (Shiraz/Tempranillo/Tannat)

The 2014 was a classic and we’re now proud to introduce the beautifully presented 2018 vintage, in which just 2200 bottles were produced.

This Assinatura (‘signature’) blend consists of 80% Shiraz, 10% Tempranillo and 10% Tannat, and was aged in new French barriques for 18 months.

Elegant, complex and very moreish!

See full tasting note below.

ABV: 14%

APPEARANCE: Deep garnet core, with a lighter, rusty-red towards the rim

AROMAS: A heady mix of ripe brambly hedgerow fruit – damson, plum and maybe prune – with mellow oak in the background

TASTE: Richly concentrated dark fruits, shows hints of smokiness and spice, punctuated by a kick of acidity. Full bodied but not heavy, quite savoury and probably best enjoyed as a food wine

FOOD PAIRING: Goes superbly with lamb, beef, venison, BBQ & smoked meats. Ideally decant.

OVERALL: This is a smooth and supple red blend, with beautifully integrated oak and packed with autumnal fruits; has matured quickly and is drinking well now but has potential for further ageing

The wine was reviewed in March 2020 by leading Glasgow-based wine critic Tom Cannavan. Read his tasting note here: Assinatura
