Previously available only in standard 75cl bottle, we are once again offering Don Guerino’s flagship red in Double Magnum (300cl) – the only Brazilian wine imported into the UK in this large format – and this time from the outstanding 2020 vintage!

As well as being a fine wine, the impressive bottle will serve as a talking point and be the highlight of any dining table..

The five grape varieties used in the blend are: Merlot (30%), Tannat (30%), Malbec (20%), Teroldego (15%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). 

In October 2019 Decanter magazine described the then four grape blend (2017 vintage) as having ‘elegant aromas with notes of ripe cherry, plum and a hint of spice…ripe and juicy with crisp acidity..and sufficient sturdy structure to age well’. Read more below.

Description

ABV: 14%

APPEARANCE: Deep, dark purple

AROMAS: Notes of blackcurrant, plum and cherry overlaying oak, some smokiness and touch of spice

TASTE: Full bodied; dark ripe fruits, savoury, more spice. Robust acidity and firm tannins, so ageing potential is excellent

FOOD PAIRING: Well seasoned red meat dishes, especially beef, lamb or game; also mature hard cheeses

OVERALL: Impressive presentation; a well structured, powerful but elegant wine, with considerable ageing potential. Decanting recommended. The five grapes used are: Merlot, Tannat, Malbec, Teroldego & Cabernet Franc
