APPEARANCE: Mid-garnet colour, some ageing apparent on rim
AROMAS: Lightly perfumed hedgerow and red berry fruit, underscored by more earthy and herbaceous notes
TASTE: Ripe damson, prune and touch of strawberry fruit; shows some traces of spice and also a hint of vanilla as a result of brief stint in French oak barrels. Dry with fresh acidity; medium-bodied, with a lingering finish
FOOD PAIRING: Serve with white meats, duck, goose, game or mushroom-based dishes; but may also be suitable with meat-based pasta dishes or BBQ fare
OVERALL: Quite a gutsy PN for those who appreciate this most noble of grape varieties!
