Produced by the always impressive Pizzato winery, this is one of three reds from their Allumé range that we have launched in 2025, initially in small volumes.
It’s an aged, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, produced using grapes sourced from a combination of Pizzato’s own two vineyards and others both within the local Serra Gaúcha region and also the wider state of Rio Grande do Sul.
Aged in both new and second use French and American barrels.
Head winemaker Flávio Pizzato – now the fourth generation of a family originally from northern Italy – describes this mature red as well structured, full-bodied and with aromas of red berries, also violets, some sweet spice and eucalyptus. Blackcurrant and dark chocolate notes may also be apparent on the palate.
Pair with lamb, beef or well flavoured cheeses.
Clean, minimalist style label; bottled under cork; decanting recommended.
