Pizzato Nervi Reserva Tannat 2015

£19.00 £17.00

In 2015 this wine acquired a new label and was re-branded ‘Nervi’ Reserva Tannat – but it is produced in the same way and is of the same high quality as the previous ‘Reserva’.

It’s also the ‘big brother’ to the Fausto Tannat, being derived from older vines (25 yrs+), aged in barrels for longer (12 months in French oak) and displaying a more powerful concentration of dark fruits.

Definitely a food wine, the Nervi Tannat will stand up to chilli- and heavily spiced dishes, BBQ meats and strongly-flavoured cheeses. Decanting is strongly recommended!

As we never tire of saying, Tannat is an underrated French grape, producing wines of great value – and longevity – which will appeal to adventurous red drinkers. Full tasting note to follow – please see below for note on the 2013 vintage.

Selected as one of our three ‘Wines of the Autumn 2020’, now on offer.
