Pizzato Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Introduced by Go Brazil in early 2023, this Sauvignon Blanc has been a welcome addition to our portfolio. Indeed, although winemaker Flavio Pizzato is considered as a red wine specialist* in Brazil, his whites have always been well received in the UK.

From the 2022 vintage this is a 100% varietal Sauv B, with grapes grown at an altitude of 570m – the highest part of the Pizzato winery. Restrained and subtle, the wine shows gentle green tomato, asparagus and grassy aromas on the nose, while the palate is smooth and clean, with traces of passion fruit also noticeable. The finish is long and refreshing.

Will appeal to those who like to sip and savour a glass of Sauvignon, and ideal too for pairing with seafood, salads and white fish dishes. Serve well chilled.

*Although known locally as ‘King of the Merlots’, Flavio’s whites have always impressed us and this Sauv B follows on from both his excellent Semillon (one of Decanter’s ‘Top 12 South American White Wines to Try’) and barrel-aged Gran Reserva Legno Chardonnay.
