Continuing our series of reviews by professional sommeliers, this month we asked Victor Torres of Aquavit, the renowned Scandinavian restaurant in St. James, London, to evaluate our
Don Guerino Reserva Teroldego 2016
“The wine has a bright purple colour with pronounced aromas that opens with ripe cherries and plums, mixed with violets and some sweet spice notes. On the palate it is juicy with great acidity and ripe tannins with lingering fruit finish.
For those who are not familiar with Teroldego, this wine would be an excellent option for Malbec lovers. Don Guerino manage to make a soft, juicy wine from a grape that is well known for its power and intensity. It would be perfect with BBQ meats or duck and I personally wouldn’t mind drinking it on its own.”
