Decanter focus on Brazil!

Decanter focus on Brazil!

The latest edition of Decanter magazine ( October 2018 ) is dedicated to South American wines, which includes – of course – Brazilian wine.

In a feature on sparkling wines Argentine writer Alejandro Iglesias highlights two of his top Brazilian labels: he awards the Cave Geisse Extra Brut 2014* a highly creditable 93 points, while the Campos de Cima Brut 2012 scores 91 points.

Here at Go Brazil we are currently stocking both the above wines – for more information and to purchase, please see here:

Elsewhere in the magazine Brazilian-born Dirceu Vianna Junior MW, South America’s first Master of Wine, has written a thought-provoking article on the current state of wine-making in Brazil. He identifies eighteen of his favourite wines from the country, five of which Go Brazil is proud to import directly from their respective producers. Here they are, with points scored:

Cave Geisse Extra Brut 2014 ( 94 )

Cave Geisse Nature Terroir 2012 ( 92 )

Don Guerino Brut Chardonnay NV ( 89 )  Currently on offer!

Pizzato Legno Chardonnay 2017 ( 90 )  Currently on offer!

Pizzato DNA’99 Merlot 2012 ( 95 )

All wines above are currently available, though vintages may vary.

For those not familiar with Decanter, this is a UK monthly online and print magazine aimed at wine enthusiasts and the trade alike. Articles are written by highly regarded educators and commentators, usually experts in their field.

*Editor’s note:  we showed the Cave Geisse Extra Brut 2014 at the recent Oxford Wine Festival, where it was one of our bestsellers… A bargain at £23.00/bottle!
