Produced only in tiny quantities by Flavio Pizzato (voted ‘Brazil’s Winemaker of the Year 2020’), Concentus sits deservedly in the top rank of Brazilian fine wines. Showing finesse and sophistication, it can be enjoyed now but has cellaring potential for the next 10 years.

Latest news: the wine has been awarded 93 points by Decanter magazine (Sept 23) – and follows a string of awards won by previous vintages!

Aged for 11 months in used French and American barrels, nose shows concentration of ripe dark berry fruit and a touch of spice. Palate shows more rich, spicy dark fruits with fine, maturing tannins and a balancing acidity. Ideally decant.

ABV: 13.5%

APPEARANCE:  Deep garnet-red core, little evidence of ageing on rim

AROMAS: Heady blend of blackberry, plum, mixed spices and oak all apparent on nose

TASTE:  Huge concentration of red berry fruit with touch of caramel on long, fresh finish. Background hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Tannins and oak in evidence; wine shows great structure. Powerful, with relatively high alcohol level. Produced only in the best vintages

FOOD PAIRING: Decanting strongly recommended; then serve with roast beef or lamb

OVERALL:  More than three years old and and still maturing, this is a serious and very high quality ‘gastronomic’ wine
