Choose a Wine-Tasting with an Individual Flavour

Are you struggling to find an innovative theme for a wine-tasting event – for your business, wine circle or society? Or perhaps you are drawing up a programme for your college or university wine tasting group at the start of the new academic year, and looking to include some more unusual or hard to find wines?

Go Brazil Wines not only offers tastings to businesses, as part of our corporate wine services, but also to wine clubs and other private organisations. During the course of a typical year we are invited to present to a wide range of such groups, from student societies through to U3A groups, both in our local county of Suffolk but also across East Anglia and indeed the whole of the UK.

Arranging a tasting with us means you will benefit from our in-depth knowledge of Brazil and its wines. You will discover exciting wines which you might never have heard about, as well as learning about Brazil’s unique history and culture.

Our tastings are not prescriptive – rather, they are tailored to your tastes and requirements, and we are careful to recommend Brazilian wines which are most likely to appeal to you and your guests. Red, white and sparkling wines feature in most tastings but sweet and rosé wines can also be enjoyed, as can some of our more unusual options.

For example, among our lesser known reds is a Teroldego, which is of northeast Italian origin. We also offer an Alicante Bouschet, which is one of the very few wines which produces a red juice from its pulp, and originally from the Basque country, and also Tannat – a tannic, thick-skinned red, from southwest France.

In the whites, we have an Itálico Riesling, which is also known as ‘Welschriesling’ or ‘Laski Riesling’. Additionally we have a Torrontés, from Argentina, and a Semillon, which is grown mainly in France and Australia…these are a few tasters of what we can offer!

Corporate Wine Tastings

Wine tastings have become an increasingly popular business tool over recent years, often used for company team-building or simply as part of an incentivisation or rewards programme. They differ from, say, attending a sporting event in that they tend to be more relaxed, more inclusive and need not be competitive!

Corporate wine tastings also provide a great opportunity to socialise with current or potential clients in an informal setting, or to network with other business contacts. We can arrange to hold a tutored presentation either at your company premises or at an outside venue.  Our other corporate wine services include the supply of wines for company functions, including for example Christmas parties, where our Brazilian sparkling wines are much in demand.

Recommended for the festive season is Amadeu Brut 2017, a very approachable Traditional Method sparkler which offers plenty of bubbles, gentle apple and pear flavours and is dry to off-dry to taste. This makes it perfect for parties and celebrations. Its ‘sister’ wine, the Amadeu Brut Rosé, is of a similar style but a lovely russet-pink in colour, with gentle strawberry and raspberry aromas, and made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes.

Wine Societies and Tasting Groups

If you run a wine society or circle, you may well be looking for ideas for next year’s programme, keen perhaps to widen your group’s wine horizons and move away from regions or producers which are already known to your members. Our Brazilian wines are ideal for this type of event because they are of high quality and yet, for many, not as widely known as those from some other countries.

We can also assist if you are arranging a Latin American or Brazilian-themed event for your society, club or restaurant, and want appropriate wines. We will be pleased to advise too on which wines will pair well with the dishes on your menu.

University and College Wine Tasting Societies

From September and October onwards, many university and college wine tasting groups will be organising their meetings for the coming year. This means not only choosing quality reds and whites from different parts of the world, but also ensuring that you will have an informative and hopefully fun evening.

Choosing a niche wine company which specialises in a particular region or country, rather than a larger and more generalized company, provides for a greater focus and more in-depth experience.

In our talks and tastings we try to keep abreast of new market developments, For instance, one wine-producing region of Brazil which has emerged only recently is Campanha Oriental. In the far southwest of Brazil, bordering Argentina and a part of Uruguay, this is traditionally cattle and sheep country, with rice cultivation also important. We work with the Campos de Cima winery, whose red and sparkling wines have enjoyed great success in the UK. Look out for the 2018 vintages of their ‘Três Bocas’ and ‘Assinatura’ red blends, which incorporate the Malbec, Tempranillo, Shiraz and Tannat grapes.

From much further north, in the state of São Paulo, we are launching a small range from the Guaspari vineyard. At an altitude of 1200m this is a former coffee plantation where, unusually, the harvest is delayed until mid-winter (July in this part of the world!). Look out for their stunning Syrahs and Sauvignon Blanc.

As well as talking about wine, we at Go Brazil like to share our passion for all things Brazilian – be it the music, football, food, history or politics.

Go Brazil

As well as hosting private tastings, Go Brazil exhibits regularly at consumer food and wine events across the country. In 2019 alone, we have already visited the counties of East Anglia, London and the South East, East and West Midlands, Cardiff, Manchester and Glasgow.
